Not to prime is a crime... but there are exceptions! Think of it like this: Priming is a preparatory step that's applied best on a clean canvas to hold onto whatever eyelash extension product is applied afterward- this can be painting a wall or makeup application! Doing so will improve adhesion and promote longevity! For the lash industry, there are many different types of lash primers on the market for different purposes but today’s focus will be on our Long Wearing Pre-Treatment & Primer and why it's a fan favourite to many lash artists! Let’s break down the key ingredients and their benefits, shall we?
Did you know our eyelashes are naturally made up of 10% water and 90% protein? The building blocks of protein make up an amino acid, and a chain of amino acids make up a peptide! When our natural lashes are stressed and damaged, feeding them with added tripeptides and nutrients will promote healthier lashes overall! Now isn’t that a beautiful thing!!!
TRUE OR FALSE: Primer will dehydrate the lashes.
This primer in particular will not dehydrate the lashes because it actually contains less than 1% of alcohol to prep and removes excess protein deposits to improve attachment and prolong retention! With that being said, its low alcohol content makes it universal to use on oily, normal, and dry clients! This seems like a no-brainer, but… it is also important to know how to apply primer because it should NOT be applied to the natural lashes from base to tip! You only need a teeny tiny amount of primer onto 2 Lint Free Microswabs and I really mean, 1-2 droplets of it (less than half a pump). Flick off the residue and dab the excess onto a clean tissue if needed and ONLY apply primer to the base of the lashes where the adhesive will adhere. Overdoing it may actually coat the lashes too much of the product and cause retention/application issues! Remember to dry the lashes completely before you begin your application.
Not only are the ingredients fantastic, but the pump feature of the bottle makes it easier to dispense and control the product and most importantly, maintain the highest hygienic standards. It's a win-win for everyone!
Another friendly reminder that primer is not always a be-all-end-all because everyone’s natural lashes are different and how their lashes receive the product will work differently than others! If you find that you are experiencing retention issues with primer, here are a few things you can do:
Now, if you're ready to take your lash game to the next level and see a 30% retention increase, then what are you waiting for? Your very own primer is patiently waiting for you at lashboxla.com <3 Enjoy, my loves!

Jo
